Winter Recreation League
Program competes in the Bill Meyer League (BML) of Cal North CYSA - District 8. The program is for boys and girls in the U8 through U14 age groups. BML is a unique playing experience that provides recreational players the opportunity to participate and play semi-competitively.
Play in BML provides recreation league soccer players the experience to travel to other cities. They get to play against opponents they have not seen all season, the travel is new, the opponents are new, and it brings a new level of excitement. This is to encourage the recreational player to continue playing, and taking them toward a potential future of competitive soccer play.
Winter League Tryouts Make-Up Date Scheduled For November 8, 2024!
Basic Requirements
1. Player must have played on a fall recreation league team in the same year.
2. All players must try out to make the team.
* There is no registration fee until the player makes the team.
The Winter League is a next level recreational playing opportunity for young aspiring soccer athletes. All players will participate in a tryout and face the challenge of tough competition to add to their experience.
Timing for this league typically begins with try outs in early-November, first practice around the first week of December, first soccer match begin first week of January (12 matches scheduled at two per Saturday), and season ends with a tournament late-February/early-March.

Winter League Training/Practice Sessions
Tryout scores will be tabulated by November 8 and teams picked by November 11.
Training sessions will be begin the first week of December and are typically held at Standard Park two evenings at 2X per week. This may vary depending on coach's availability.
Training sessions during this time of the year can be cold so ensure players are dressed for the conditions.
Winter League Match/Game Schedule
Matches begin the first week of January on Saturdays. There will be two matches per day and for six consecutive Saturday weekends. Matches may be played at locations from Atwater, Modesto, Stockton, and Sonora
At the end of six weeks, there'll be a bye week and the following week will be tournament weekend. All teams will be seeded according to six week play results.
Sign-Up and Try Out Information
There are no costs to try out for the team. If selected to play on a team, then links will be sent to parents to register online. Registration costs are ~$185 per player (including taxes and fees). Please note, some teams may be unable to be formed due to low enrollment in that age-group, or there is no coach for the team.
Players are to bring water, boots, and shin guards to the try out session. There's no requirement to attend both sessions, but is recommended to attend both sessions.
At this time, the time for tryouts is still being determined. Please follow us on our Facebook page and at this website to learn of the scheduled times. Time schedule will be emailed to those parents who've already signed up at Standard Park and also will be sent to those signed up at the form below.
If your child has already been signed up at Standard Park, then no need to complete the form below. The form below are for those players who've decided afterwards they would like to try out, or if the parent was unaware his or her child could be signed-up at the park.
